The Greener Ventures 2004 Business Plan Competition is open to any start-up team or company having one or more members with a Dartmouth affiliation (student, alumnus, faculty, researcher, or staff).

Submission

Designate a primary contact for your team.

Limit plans to 10 pages and include a 1-page executive summary which may be handed out to audience members if you are invited to present.

Submit business plans by 5:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, to the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN). E-mail sian.muir@dartmouth.edu or deliver a hard copy to the DEN office at 14 South Main Street, 2F, Hanover, NH 03755.

Note: The Greener Ventures 2004 Business Plan Competition is a public event. No information given by entrants will be kept confidential. Entrants may be invited on or before April 14 to give a presentation as part of the process of selecting the three finalists for the April 24th competition.

Presentations

Three finalists will be selected to present and compete at the conference on April 24. Powerpoint presentations should have no more than 10 slides and should cover market, value proposition and product, competition, financing needs, financial projections, timeline, and team.

Finalists must e-mail their Powerpoint presentations to sian.muir@dartmouth.edu by 2 PM on April 22 and be available in person before 2 PM on April 24 to ensure their presentation operates correctly.

Beginning at 3:15 PM on April 24, each team will give a 10-minute presentation to a panel of judges. The panel will then have 10 minutes to ask questions and provide on-the-spot feedback and reactions. All time limits will be strictly enforced.

Judging

Business plans will be evaluated on conception and whether the team's pitch justifies funding. The results will be announced and the prizes awarded at the mixer in Stell Hall following the contest.

Prizes

There will be a first prize of $4,000, and $500 to each of the other two finalists.
